SINthetik Messiah, "Lies, Sectets, And Death" Album Review

Gritty and apocalyptically cinematic, SINthetik Messiah returns with a new album that is fit for the uncertain times we live in. Hailing from the United States Dirty South, multi-instrumentalist Bug Gigabyte brings us 6 original songs with 3 remixes, featuring the likes of Counterstrike and Assemblage 23. Blending together elements of electro, EBM, and pop, all with a serrated Industrial edge, "Lies, Secrets, And Death" is a constantly evolving sonic landscape, painting a dismal picture of the future with a slight dash of hope. Starting off with its opener, "When the World Is On Fire", Bug Gigabyte masterfully sets both the tone and pacing of the album. His harsh vocals fire across layers of harsher electronics, only to be juxtaposed by a poppy hook sung by a female voice that pulls the whole song together. "The Lost Cognitive Fight" is an instrumental piece that is eerie and dismally ambient. A speech by JFK plays in the foreground, serving as a warning that hits so close to home, given the times that we live in. "I'm On Fire" and "Don't Lose Who You Are" bring the second act of the album to a fevered pace, as Bug Gigabyte's signature beat drives the adrenaline that leads to the album's close. "Don't Lose Who You Are" brings a slight glimmer of light and hope, once again bringing a masterful use of juxtaposition to the composition. "Assassins That Run On Faith" is a doom and gloom masterclass, full of booming bass and distorted and dirty synths, forming the album's logical conclusion before the remixes kick in. All in all, :Lies, Secrets, And Death" is an incredible mixing of influences that blends together into a perfect storm of stylized soundscapes. This album is not to be missed.

Standout Tracks: "Don't Lose Who You Are", "Assassins That Run On Faith" both the album version and the Assemblage 23 remix.
