The year is 2024, but as soon as the new single from Gary Robert and Community starts playing, we are instantly transported back to the early 1980's, to one of the seediest underground venues often frequented by the likes of Lou Reed or Iggy Pop and The Stooges. "Shout, Drums, Dance" is such a wonderful throwback to the earliest days of the genre. The quality, though modern in its production, still carries that almost grainy sound that you'd hear in old tapes of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. Gary Robert baritone croon serenades us through jangling guitars, grooving bass, and a beat that can't be stopped, in what is ultimately your new dance-along club night anthem. If "Shout, Drums, Dance" doesn't get you moving, then you were certainly born to be a skeleton, as Gary says himself.
