Astari Nite, "Necessity Meal" Single Review

Astari Nite return with another single, and it is an absolute killer. Telling a tale of seeking forgiveness and the kindness of strangers, "Necessity Meal" is as frank as it is vulnerable. Though it has all the trappings of what we love about the band, this is not your typical Astari Nite song. "Necessity Meal" is markedly more aggressive, as the rhythm section begins the song with a monstrous thump, while the keys join in with a menacing sting. The guitars come in for the verse that is sure to make you move your feet, and is prime for club play, as it will surely make the crowd stomp and sway. The chorus is airy and atmospheric, as the words "Thank you for the guilt" burn across the soundscape with an earnest dismay. A single that is not to be missed by dark music enthusiasts, Astari Nite leave us wanting more in the best way possible. "Necessity Meal" captivates absolutely right from the start, just as soon as the drums beat in their cacophonous intro.
