As Everything Unfolds, "Felt Like Home" Single Review

One year after the release of their highly anticipated full length album, "Within Each Lies The Other", As Everything Unfolds is back with a brand new single, "Felt Like Home". The new song is everything you would expect from the Buckinghamshire quintet, but with a stylistic difference that has a lot of their fans scratching their heads. While still maintaining that certain je ne sais quoi, in particular the atmospheric electronics and pounding rhythm section, "Felt Like Home" features some bouncy riffs and a groove that will make you move your feet. But that is not the biggest difference. The new single is brimming with pop sensibilities, like big hooks and a soaring sing-a-long chorus; couple that with the fact that this song does not feature any screams from powerhouse front woman Charlie Rolfe. And you know what? It. Still. ROCKS! This is just a taste of what is yet to come, as the band reaches new heights in musical maturity. While nothing has been announced yet, I imagine "Felt Like Home" will be the first in a set of singles that will tease the release of a new album, and we here at NotTheAmp are waiting eagerly for it.
