What does a musician do when on lockdown, away from his band? Start another project, of course! This was the case for Daniel C, most notably the drummer for The Wake, and producer Gil Singer, the duo that is now 2 Forks. Making the best of the pandemic, the two started a new project revolving around the persona of Danny 2 Forks that Daniel C created, as he stepped out from behind his drums to take on the duties of front man and other instruments. The result of this experiment was the dynamic album, "Quanticode". The duo masterfully build a variety of soundscapes across the 11 tracks, all of which differing from the next. Songs like "Take It" are straight up bangers, channeling the hyperactive aggression of legends like Gravity Kills and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, complete with ominous sound clips from other media, while other songs are hypnotic, mellow, and midtempo, luring you into a sense of calm before bringing the noise on the next track. "My Time" even ventures into the realm of trap music, with a sublime and heavy bass line accompanied by a constantly ticking hi-hat. Danny 2 Forks vocals are loud, brash, and intense, but never verge into the realm of being illegible; he brings fury with a welcomed sense of restraint. The entirety of "Quanticode" bounces around in tempo, but once can easily find themselves dancing or stomping to each track. What 2 Forks bring on "Quanticode" is truly unique, and this album should not continue to fly under the radar
